As many as 333 Egyptians returned home from Libya via Salloum crossing over the past 24 hours, said Marsa Matrouh Security chief Mokhtar el Senbary.
Out of all the returnees, 301 Egyptians came back legally, while 32 returned illegally, he noted in statements on Wednesday.
Travel procedures for 886 people, including 278 Egyptians and 608 Libyans, have been finalized, Senbary added.
Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias and an increasing use of weapons since the overthrow of slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
