Al Azhar Grand Imam and Head of the Muslim Council of Elders Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb arrived here Sunday to chair an emergency meeting of the council, slated for Monday, to probe Israeli violations against Al Aqsa Mosque.
The council is expected to discuss means of halting Israeli violations against the holy mosque and the provocative acts committed by occupation forces against the worshipers.
Earlier, El Tayyeb has called on the members of the Muslim Council of Elders to hold an emergency session out of the important role played by the council in achieving and spreading peace as well as protecting the Islamic sanctities.
