AL calls for revoking Al Aqsa closure decision

The General Secretariat of the Arab League (AL) on Friday warned of the consequences of the escalating step taken by the Israeli occupation forces by closing the holy mosque of Al Aqsa, preventing worshipers from performing Friday prayers and storming the mosque.
In a statement, the AL said that such acts would have grave consequences on the region, as well as the Arab and Muslim world.
It added that the Israeli measures fuel religious conflict, terrorism and violence in the region and overthrow all efforts made to achieve peace in the Middle East.
The Arab League called for an immediate opening of Al Aqsa and stopping all attempts aiming at changing the historical status quo of the holy mosque, which was confirmed and supported by international legitimacy resolutions.
