Cairo - MENA
The joint “Arab Shield-1” military drills kicked off on Sunday at Egypt's Mohamed Naguib Military Base and air and navy drills areas in the Mediterranean.
The military exercises will last until November 16.
Forces from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan flocked over the past few days to several air bases and navy zones to take part in the drills.
The drills fall within the framework of promoting military cooperation between Egypt and the sisterly Arab states to enhance the combat potentials of the Armed Forces and promote military relations to support security and stability efforts in the region.
