Alexandria - Arab Today
The Administrative Court in Alexandria obliged the Interior Ministry to present the outcome of investigations into the 2011 Alexandria Church bombing to the Public Prosecution.
The court, at its session on Thursday, said that the then-interior minister announced on January 24, 2011 the arrest of 19 Al Qaeda elements accused of plotting to carry out acts of sabotage in several Egyptian governorates.
Since this date, the Interior Ministry did not refer the results of investigations or the criminals to the Public Prosecution, the court said, adding this matter is "a grave breach on the part of the ministry and neglect of its duties as a public administrative authority."
Families of the victims had filed a lawsuit before the Administrative Court, asking for resuming the halted probe into the attack and bringing the criminals to justice.
