Cairo - Egypt Today
An observatory of extremist Fatwas (religious opinion) affiliated with Egypt's Darul Iftaa asserted that Daesh terrorist group is capitalizing on the Palestinian issue after its defeats in Iraq and Syria and the death of its leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Darul Iftaa said the terrorist group's Mufti has called on its elements to converge on Egyptian and Palestinian territories, asserting that the organization was traumatized by its recent defeats in Syria and Iraq, a matter which could force its elements to flee to neighboring countries.
The Observatory noted that such calls by Daesh mufti is a failed attempt by the remnants of the group to gain more power after the death of several elements of its top leaders.
The statement also noted that the organization's plans to head for Egypt will come to a total failure thanks to its police and army foundations and the unity among its people.
The Observatory also sounded the alarm against infiltration by terrorist elements, calling for uniting all international efforts to counter terrorism and its spread in the region.
