A documentary film was produced to highlight the achievements realized by a Shalatin voluntary group combating drug addiction and smoking, the social solidarity minister said.
The group was the first formed in the Red Sea governorate under an initiative launched by the Fund for Drug Control and Addiction Treatment - an affiliate to the Social Solidarity Ministry - to train youths on positive participation in activities meant to curb drug addiction and smoking, Ghada Wali said in statements on Thursday.
Later on, several voluntary groups were formed in various cities of Red Sea governorates, she said.
She noted that more than 10,000 youths and 50,000 families benefited from the work accomplished by voluntary groups.
