President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has welcomed Lebanese President Michel Aoun's invitation to take part in the economic summit in Beirut in January.
Egypt’s presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said the invitation was delivered to the president during a meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil on Monday attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Lebanese ambassador in Cairo.
The message expressed Lebanon's keenness on boosting relations and consultations with Egypt in all fields.
The spokesman said that President El-Sisi welcomed efforts to form a new Lebanese government and entrusted Bassil with conveying greetings to President Aoun, expressing support for the Lebanese people and their efforts to maintain co-existence and integration.
