The Lebanese army said Saturday that former deputy mayor of Arsal Ahmad Fleity succumbed to wounds he sustained in a shelling.
Fleity was injured earlier in the day in a rocket fire while he was conducting negotiations with Al Nusra Front militants over possible withdrawal from Wadi Hmayed, said the army in a press release.
He was announced dead later at a local hospital.
