Civil Defence Department (CDD) firefighters knocked down a blaze that ripped through 5 clothing and footwear shops in an eastern Amman district on Tuesday dawn, the media office of the CDD said in a statement.

A nearby parked bus also got engulfed in the flames, but the firemen managed to tame the blaze and brought it under control, said the statement. 

It added that the quick actions of the CDD crews prevented the spread of fire through adjacent buildings, and fortunately no one was injured in the incident.
