Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held on Wednesday a meeting with Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al Jabouri.
During the meeting held in Iraq, Shoukry praised high-level cooperation between the Egyptian and Iraqi parliaments and stressed Egypt's support to Iraq in the fight against terrorism.
Shoukry also stressed Egypt's keenness on reaching a national reconciliation in Iraq, saying that this move will contribute to the stability of Iraq in the post-Daesh era. 
Egypt seeks to play a role in reconstructing Iraq and restoring security in liberated areas there, he added.
Jabouri, for his part, praised Egypt's stances in support of Iraq, stressing that the Iraqi people are now on the right track.
He also reviewed the Iraqi government's efforts to eradicate sectarian violence in Iraq, adding that his country seeks to step up the level of coordination and consultation with Egypt at various levels.
