Health and Population Minister Ahmed Emad Eldin discussed unifying the stance of the Eastern Mediterranean Region pertaining to health issues.
This came during his participation in the first meeting of the member countries of that region in the headquarters of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva.
The get-together took up ways to eradicate polio in the region, according to a statement issued by the Health Ministry on Sunday.
The meeting tackled also means of fighting non-communicable diseases, the achievements attained by the organization on that regard and ways of combating smoking.
