Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdel-Malek al-Mekhalfi said on Friday that Iran is the reason behind the Yemeni crisis.
In an interview with Al Arbiyah Al Hadath TV station, he added that Iran could not be a part of a solution for the Yemeni crisis, asserting that Iran is working on a scheme aiming at replacing the state with sect and the army with militias.
He added that Houthis caused the current deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen, adding that the international NGOs are working on to reach humanitarian solutions for the crisis while ignoring the Yemeni national cause.
Meanwhile, the minister said that the former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh hates Taiz city because the first protest against him was organized in this city.
Yemen’s civil war erupted in 2014 when Iran-backed Houthis ousted the country’s government. Saudi Arabia led a coalition in 2015 to reinstall the Yemeni legitimate government back to power.
