Jordan Hotels Association (JHA) Chairman, Michael Nazzal, Sunday, called for intensifying tourism promotion efforts through channeling them towards artistic and natural tourist attractions in the country.

He said there are 28,000 archeological sites in Jordan, thus there is great possibilities to upgrade tourism and increase the flow of visitors to the country.

“The overnight visitor numbers who visit the Kingdom annually amount to 3 millions with an average length of stay of 2 nights per tourist”, said Nazzal, calling for work to extend length of visitors’ stay by providing them with various services and recreational programs.

He also said that the JHA currently has around 5,000 job opportunities for Jordanians, both at home and abroad, adding that Jordan has become a major exporter of highly-qualified hotel staffs.
