Lebanese army controls strategic hill within operation against Daesh

The Lebanese army on Saturday took control over al Mkhayrmeh hill which is located between the outskirts of al Qaa and Ras Baalbek (towns), Deputy Head of Ras Baalbek municipality William Nussair said.
Controlling such a strategic area will enable the Lebanese army to close Lawton crossing to prevent Daesh terrorist group from infiltrating into al Qaa town.
In statements to MENA, Nussiar said that as many as eight suicide bombers have been sneaked through Lawton crossing to al Qaa outskirts in 2016.
The Lebanese army is achieving direct hits on several sites affiliated to Daesh since launching ‘Fajr al Joroud Operation’ in the outskirts of Ras Baalbek and al Qaa (towns) at the dawn of Saturday near the Syrian borders, Nussair added.
