Cairo - Egypt Today
The Lebanese army continued for the fifth consecutive day its anti-terrorism operation against Daesh militants near the border with Syria, well-reliable Lebanese sources said Wednesday.
The army forces managed to tighten control over the majority of Ras Baalbek and Jurud lands, forcing many of Daesh militants to flee toward Syrian territories.
Army tanks and vehicles were redeployed between Ras Baalbek and Jurud.
On Saturday, the Lebanese army began a broad military operation dubbed “Fajr al-Jurud” to liberate 120 square kilometers held by Daesh on the eastern border of the country.
