Health Ministry Undersecretary here Hossam el Khateb sacked the manager of Sheikh Zayed al Nahyan Hospital and also decided to refer to urgent investigation the head of the emergency department in the same hospital.
This came during the surprise tour paid by the committee formed by the health minister to make sure that needed medical care is provided to citizens in hospitals during the first day of Eidul Fitr.
In a statement, the Heath Minister Adviser Sherif Wadie stressed that the decision was made due to shortage of important medical supplies and medicine in the emergency department, the matter which the hospital's administration did not notify the health affairs directorate in Cairo.
