Cairo police on Tuesday arrested a gang specialized in theft of ladies' handbags on public roads.

The gang, three men in their twenties, were arrested during a security crackdown in Nasr City and police found in their possession a handbag including two cell phones along wih EGP 1,900 belonging to a 51-year-old woman.

An investigation was launched into the case. Security efforts were intensified to catch the fourth and fugitive gang member.
