A Behira policeman refused on Wednesday to receive 80,000 pounds as a bribe from two persons to release a driver, who was caught earlier with a huge amount of smuggled cigarettes in his possession.

The two persons who tried to bribe the policeman were nabbed.

All legal procedures were taken and the public prosecution was notified to launch a probe.
