On Tuesday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with with representatives of the Chinese companies in charge of the project of the electronic passenger train in the presence of Transport Minister Hesham Arafat.
The president stressed the necessity of finalizing the electric passenger train project within two years.
The project is of great importance as it will help facilitate the transport of goods and services between Greater Cairo and the New Administrative Capital, he added.
Arafat, for his part, said the project will contribute to upgrading urban areas and reducing traffic congestion in Cairo.
President Sisi on Thursday bestowed Order of the Republic of the First Class on former State Council chairman Mohamed Abdel Hamid Masoud and former president of Cairo Court of Appeal Sarie Mohamed Badawy el Gamal.
Sisi underlined the key role played by judges in protecting citizens' rights, achieving justice and upholding country's interests
Later in the day, Counselor Ahmed Abdel Aziz Ibrahim Abul Azm was sworn in on before Sisi as new head of the State Council. (MORE)
