Egyptian authorities opened Tuesday the Rafah border crossing with Gaza Strip for the second consecutive day in both directions.
According to an official source at the border crossing, 1,168 passengers were able to pass through the crossing in the first day.
As many as 584 travellers who had been stranded at the Egyptian side of the crossing were able to cross into Gaza, added the source.
Egypt has decided on Monday to open the main gate of the Rafah border crossing for three days.
The border crossing was opened for Palestinian patients, students, and carriers of foreign stay permits to Egypt.
