Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh

Saudi forces in Jazan city carried out military operations against outposts affiliated to Houthi militias and supporters of ousted Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh in Yemen's Harad governorate, some 9 kilometers away from the Saudi borders.

Al Arabiya news channel reported Thursday that the Saudi forces carried out an artillery attack on Houthi and pro-Saleh sites after detecting, through thermal cameras, the movement of the militants toward the Saudi borders in an attempt to penetrate it and open a new military front to target Saudi border cities.

The militias fired several missiles at uninhabited areas before moving towards the Saudi borders.

Military sources confirmed that the Saudi forces killed more than 20 Houthi elements, injured others and
destroyed their strongholds.
