The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) convened Tuesday under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to discuss the latest security developments in Egypt.
The meeting took up a report on measures taken by the Armed Forces to purge Sinai from terrorists and achieve security and stability on the peninsula.
The president was posted on efforts to secure and control the borders to counter infiltration and smuggling attempts.
Sisi praised efforts exerted by the Armed Forces, in cooperation with police, to foil terrorist attacks across Egypt.
He urged them to remain on high alert and to maintain their combat readiness, given the critical regional developments.
The council also probed military operations in Libya, Yemen and Syria, with Sisi reiterating Egypt's support for Arab unity.
