Security apparatuses are combing the surrounding of Mar Gerges Church in Tanat where an explosion erupted earlier Sunday, leaving dozens of people dead and injured, the Ministry of Interior said.

After being notified of the deadly explosion, security apparatuses in Gharbia governorate, sappers along with civil protection forces rushed to the scene of the attack to assess the situation, the Ministry added in a statement.
