President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has, once again, called for a firm international stance to stop financial and political support for terrorism.
Speaking during a meeting with majority leader in the German parliament (Bundestag) Volker Kauder Tuesday, the Egyptian president said drying up supplies to terrorists is as important as the military confrontation.
Egypt is still fighting terrorism at the military, political and ideological levels, Sisi told Kauder.
Cairo and Berlin need to enhance cooperation and consultation to counter challenges that result from crises in the region, Sisi said, citing the influx of refugees and illegal immigrants.
He pressed for action to reach political settlements to the regional crises to be able to handle the refugees problem.
Sisi also posted Kauder on economic developments in Egypt, assuring him that a comprehensive program is being implemented to fix structural imbalances, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Kauder said Germany will act to support Egypt's aspirations to achieve sustainable development through enhancing economic relations with the Arab country, Youssef added .
Egypt is a key player in the Middle East and is a main pillar of security and stability in the region, the presidential spokesman quoted Kauder as having said.
He was pleased with efforts exerted by Egypt to counter terrorism and extremism, Youssef noted.
