Thousands of residents of Mahalla city on Wednesday took part in a funeral held for a slain lieutenant who was killed by terrorists in North Sinai.

The governor of Gharbia, in which Mahalla is located, along with its security chief attended the funeral of Mohamed Ali Fouad.

After the prayers, the mourners chanted slogans against terrorism and called for continuing war against terrorist elements.

Fouad was killed during an anti-terror campaign in North Sinai.
