Sadr movement organized early Saturday a peaceful protest in which thousands of Iraqis from the capital and several governorates took part.

The protesters called for amending the elections law, confronting corruption, changing electoral panel and ditching political quotas.

Iraqi forces tightened security measures and helicopters hovered over the Iraqi capital.
