Transport Minister Hesham Arafat held on Thursday a meeting with French Ambassador to Egypt Stephane Roumtier to discuss means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of transportation.
A plan is underway to develop the first and second metro lines at a total cost of 30.7 billion pounds, the minister said.
Arafat urged finalizing under-construction metro lines as soon as possible to alleviate congestion in Cairo.
The meeting also tackled projects being carried out by the French government to upgrade the transportation sector in Egypt.
