Cairo - Egypt Today
Libyan military commander Khalifa Haftar has expected UN Libya envoy Ghassan Salame to succeed in his mission in the North African country.
The former UN envoys to Libya failed to reach reconciliation among the Libyan rivals, Haftar said in an interview with Russia Today on Tuesday.
He added that Russia promised to provide political and military support for Libya during the coming period.
The points of view of the Russian and Libyan sides are identical, he said, adding Russia’s stance is close to that of the Libyan National Army.
On the Skhirat agreement, which was reached in Morocco, Haftar pointed out that the deal was drawn up by the Muslim Brotherhood and should be amended, citing ambiguous points in it.
The deal does not achieve real reconciliation, he said.
He described his relations with head of the Libyan Presidency Council Fauez Sarraj as good.
