The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have controlled 50 percent of Raqqa city, the stronghold of the terrorist group of Daesh, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was quoted by media as saying on Wednesday.
"The SDF are controlling 50% the city, despite fierce resistance from Daesh," said the Britain-based rights group's Ramy Abdel-Rahman.
A military operation to retake from the city from Daesh was launched less than two months ago.
