UAE's national bird falcon -- a symbol of force and courage -- and the sand dunes of its deserts shine through as they are magnificently showcased in the latest Volkswagen video ad, which is going viral on social networking sites.
Titled 'The Chase', the video brings alive the flight of the Peregrine falcon, considered to be the fastest animal on earth clocking 290 km/h (180 mph) in a dive, against the Golf GTI Clubsport, which can speed up from 0 to 100km/h in 6.3 seconds and has a turbocharged 265 hp direct-injection engine. It is a nature vs machine race.
In the end, it is the car which overtakes the falcon, but the eventual winner is the UAE's culture that is the show-stealer in many ways.
Falcons are strong, fast fliers with great aerial agility. Since falcons fly and live in greater heights, it is too difficult to see and observe its movements and behaviour. Steeped in UAE's tradition, falcons are treated with paramount importance and are held at a high pedestal.
