Los Angeles - UPI
A representative for Casey Kasem's daughter, Kerry Kasem, says the legendary DJ's body has gone missing from the Washington funeral home where it had been held. Casey Kasem died June 15 from complications of Parkinson's disease, and has yet to be buried or cremated.
Kerri Kasem accuses her father's wife, jean Kasem, of removing the body from the morgue and taking it elsewhere.
Jean Kasem told CNN said the body wasn't missing.
"Would you leave us to grieve in peace?" she said.
Kerry Kasem's rep, Danny Deraney, called the situation "pure insanity."
"It's sad that it's gotten to this point," he told the Los Angeles Times.
Over the course of the last several months of Casey Kasem's life, his daughter and wife argued over who should be in control of his care.
A Los Angeles judge ruled Kerri Kasem could make medical decisions for her father.
