Local Development Minister Adel Labib announced that 1.282 billion pounds are allocated to implement infrastructure developmental projects in 78 most needy villages.
The development will include providing drinking water and sanitation services, lighting the streets and paving the roads along with improving educational, health and youth services in addition to providing job opportunities, Labib said.
The villages are in the governorates of Fayyoum, Sharqiya, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, New Valley, Sohag, Qena, Aswan, Red Sea, Luxor, Giza, Qalubiya, Alexandria, Beheira, Marsa Matrouh, Gharbiya, Kafr el Sheikh, Damietta, Dakahliya, North Sinai, South Sinai, Port Said, Ismailia and Suez.
