Greek Finance Ministers Yannis Varoufakis on Monday said that "substantial disagreement" remains with the Eurogroup over the Greece's austerity programme.
The current government in Athens was elected to challenge the logic of this program, he told a press conference here tonight after the Eurogroup finance ministers failed to reach a deal on Greece's debt crisis. "The programme has failed to stabilise Greece and created an enormous humanitarian crisis," the minister affirmed.
"We are ready and willing to do whatever it takes to reach an honourable agreement over the next two days. Our government will accept all conditions that it can deliver upon and which will not re-enforce our society's crisis," he stressed.
"The purpose of the meeting was to establish common ground over the next four to six months to reach a new long term contract. The discussions will continue in the coming days," he said.
Varoufakis noted that "Europe will pull a good agreement of what seems to be an impasse. Greece will remain in Eurogroup," he added.
