Head of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish said on Thursday that the largest dredging operation in history was recorded while digging the New Suez Canal.
In Statements, Mamish added that the dredging operation was extremely difficult for many reasons, notably difficulty of providing logistics, fuel and food.
Despite the operation was so difficult, we managed to finalize it, thanks to the availability of wise decisions, continuous follow-up and determination to implement it, Mamish said.
For the first time in history, 45 dredgers, 75 percent of dredgers in the whole world, operate in one project, he noted.
