Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil stressed the importance of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Japan, which is expected before the end of the year.
Coordination is underway between all government and business community sides to list the most important projects to be proposed to the Japanese side during the visit, Qabil said during a meeting with Chairman of the Japanese side of the Egypt-Japan Business Council Satoshi Ozawa on Sunday.
The council has a large role in enhancing trade and investment cooperation between the two countries through establishing partnerships targeting the promotion of economic ties, Qabil said.
Mega national projects, namely the Suez Canal Corridor Development Project, will be on top of the ventures to be floated to the Japanese side in addition to the establishment of industrial complexes, especially in the automotive field, he said.
Meanwhile, Ozawa said Egypt is a promising market in the Middle East and has great competitive benefits that qualify it to play a strong role in the trade and investment market in the region.
