Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy has said that the strategic reserves of wheat have exceed the safe limits.
He said that the General Authority For Supply Commodities (GASC) launches international bids to buy wheat as part of a government plan to increase its stock to meet Egypt's needs.
Just yesterday, the GASC signed a contract to buy 55,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat at 190.8 dollars per ton, Hanafy said Saturday.
He also pointed to tough measures taken during the delivery of the imported wheat shipments.
