Coach Magdy Abdel Ghany

Member of Egyptian Football Federation (EFF) Magdy Abdel Ghany refused the calls for excluding Coach of Egyptian national team Hector Cuper, saying that it is not the right time to take such a decision.

He added, in a statement to “Egypt Today”, that he supports the idea to hold a meeting between the coach and leaders of EFF to discuss the reasons behind the low performance of the players during the latest matches the national team played against Uganda during the current qualifying round for the World Cup scheduled to be held in Russia 2018.

He stressed that they need to be briefed on the reasons that led to such performance during the latest matches to clarify the matter to the fans. He said that there is difference with member of EFF Ahmed Mujahed saying that the matter has not reached to a clash like what was published on media channels and newspapers.

He added that the they still wait the return of EFF Chairperson Hany Abu-Reida, saying that they will take the final decision regarding a number of pending issues. He revealed their intention to sign a contract with an international company to use a unified ball in all matches of the Egyptian Premier League during the coming period.

He added that the EFF exerts its efforts during the coming period to turn Egyptian football to professionalism, saying that if they managed to achieve such objective during the current period, they would achieve increasing achievement on international football side.

He stressed that EFF works currently to provide support for the national team to qualify for the World Cup, saying that it is the major priority for the EFF during the current period. He called the fans for supporting the national team and its coaching staff to achieve this objective.
