One woman was killed as floods hit the Turkish Black Sea province of Rize, the Anatolia news agency reported Sunday. The body of a 52-year-old woman who was swept away by flood waters was found Sunday in the Kirklartebe village of Rize province, the report said. Two houses also collapsed in the floods. The floods, as a result of heavy rains in parts of northern and northwestern Turkey over the past few days, caused damages to many homes and workplaces. The municipal fire-fighting teams evacuated many people trapped in their homes due to the floods, the report said.
