Seventeen people died in a four-vehicle accident in eastern China Saturday morning, the New China News Agency (Xinhua) reported. A semi-trailer hit another one from behind, overturned and slid into the opposite lane of the Shanghai-Kunming expressway in Jiangxi province at around 4:30 am. A lorry then crashed into the semi-trailer and subsequently hit a passenger van. Twelve people died at the scene while five died in hospital. Nine of the victims were aboard the van. Four people were injured, of whom two were hospitalized.
