Two people died and five were missing after a boat capsized off the coast of central Vietnam, authorities said Monday. The accident occurred Sunday when the boat carrying 30 soldiers and five civilians from Cu Lao Cham island to Hoi An city, the military said Monday. The boat sank just 500 metres off the shore. Rescue teams and local fishermen saved 28 people and retrieved two bodies. Five soldiers were still missing, it said. Strong waves caused the accident, local media quoted a survivor as saying. There was little hope of finding more survivors, the military said.
