Two people, including a village councilor, were wounded in an explosion allegedly perpetrated by the terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group in southern Philippine province of Sulu on Tuesday, police said. Citing a report from the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao Police Regional Office, national police spokesman Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the blast occurred at Timpook village, Patikul town at around 7:10 a.m. when the suspected bandits planted an improvised explosive device in the area. The victims are identified as Ahamadul Akjam, councilor of Timpook village, and certain Nurhussin Ladja. Police are conducting further investigation on the incident.
