Three miners are locked underground in the Russian Altai region after a rock collapsed in the Poteryaevsky pit in the town of Rubtsovka, according to the Russian Emergency Ministry. The incident happened 100 metres underground early on Sunday. Rescuers report no fire at the site and say that they are in contact with the trapped men. The miners have enough air, rescue workers say. All work in the mine has been suspended and 96 people have been evacuated from the pit. Rescue efforts involve 49 people and 16 vehicles.
