Eight people died in Kazakhstan on Tuesday after an oil reservoir they were cleaning caught fire, the Interfax news agency reported. The apparent accident took place at an oil refinery near the Caspian Sea port city Aktau. Fire suppression systems functioned normally and the blaze was extinguished almost immediately, officials from the company KazTransOil said. An investigation into the cause of the fire was in progress, the report said.
