Eight people were killed when a gunman opened fire in a beauty salon in the southern Californian city of Seal Beach, the Los Angeles Times said on Thursday. The gunman opened fire inside the crowded Meritage salon. Six people died immediately and three were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Two of them later succumbed to their wounds; one person is still in critical condition. The suspect offered no resistance to police and was arrested. Eyewitnesses said the man targeted his ex-wife and that the two were involved in a custody dispute, but it is still unclear what triggered the violence.
