In a fall out of the AMRI Hospital fire tragedy Friday in the Indian city of Kolkata, another hospital in the downtown area of the city has decided to close down, reported Indo-Asian News Service Monday. The authorities of Mercy Hospital in upmarket Park Street of Kolkata have decided to close down operations after union activists refused to shift its kitchen from the basement. The fire at AMRI hospital broke out from its basement, killing 93 people, mainly by suffocation and heat. The indoor patients will be treated till they are discharged, but there will be no new admissions, said the hospital management. The Indian gov\'t has asked all hospitals to check precautionary measures against fire after the AMRI disaster.
