Argentina\'s Supreme Court has ruled that any rape victim can get an abortion. Abortions are generally illegal in the country. Until this decision, it had been up to a judge to decide which rape victims could get abortions. Generally, only women with mental disabilities were approved. Now a rape victim will not be punished for terminating a pregnancy. They will have to provide to a doctor a sworn declaration that they were raped. The Roman Catholic Church condemned the ruling, AP reports. Pro-choice groups claim that about 700,000 illegal abortions are carried out every year in Argentina.
