A man found dead near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington Sunday was an apparent suicide, police said. A U.S. Park Service employee discovered the body about 10 a.m. in West Potomac Park near the Potomac River and not far from the Lincoln Memorial, The Washington Post reported. No foul play was suspected and the identity of the victim had not been released, the newspaper said. The area where the body was found was closed off until about noon while District police investigated, a police spokesman, identified as officer A. Clay, said.
