Former Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will receive his third and final round of chemotherapy for throat cancer on Monday, his aides said Sunday.Lula will visit a private hospital in Sao Paulo early Monday and stay there until Tuesday. Before the chemo session, he will have a few medical examinations to find out whether the tumor grew smaller. The cancer was detected in October. He might also get examinations to determine whether there has been a metastasis, and he might begin radiotherapy early next year, the aides said. The doctors are optimistic about his condition because his voice has improved. Lula is a long-time smoker.
