The Chinese Red Cross has donated 30, 000 U.S. dollars to its counterpart in the Philippines for the relief of typhoon-affected victims, the Chinese embassy in the Philippines said in a statement on Monday. Charge D\'affaires of the Chinese embassy presented the relief fund on behalf of the Chinese Red Cross to the Philippine Red Cross on Nov. 3 to help its relief efforts for victims of the recent typhoons, the embassy said. The Philippine Red Cross Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang accepted the donation and expressed appreciation to the Chinese Red Cross and the Chinese people for their sincerity and generosity. Typhoons Nesat and Nalgae killed more than 100 Filipinos, and caused economic losses of 14 billion pesos (321.84 million U.S. dollars), according to official statistics.
